In 1934 Mom met and married our Dad, Marlon Earl Parkin, in theSalt Lake Temple. They lived on Miller Ave. in Salt Lake until 1944when they purchased a chicken farm in Draper.

Mom was the hardest working woman we ever knew. She worked rightalong side our Dad day and night. She always wore overalls on thefarm and it was not unusual to see her casing eggs at midnight orlater. Mom supported Dad in everything he wanted to do.

Subsequent to leaving the chicken business, Mom worked for 14years as a cafeteria manager for Jordan School District.

Mom played the piano beautifully, and until her death could play'Glow Worm' as if she had the hands of an 18 year old. She alsotaught piano for many years. She played the harmonica, the washboardand sang as a member of the 'Golden Oldies' Band and the SeniorCitizens band for over 30 years.

Mom's L.D.S. Church callings were many, serving in the Primaryfor 21 years and as Sunday School Coordinator for nine years.

Mom sold the farm after Dad passed away and moved to the LegacyRetirement Center. There, she continued to play the piano and was avisiting teacher and music chorister. Everyone at the Legacy lovedMom for her infectious smile. She always made everyone feel special. She especially loved the young people who served the meals. Shealways had words of encouragement for them and several have comeback to visit and thank her for making them feel special.

Mom will be missed by all who loved her but we know she is withDad and we are sure she will continue to support him just as she didhere on earth. We're also sure if you listen really hard, you willhear 'Glow Worm' as you've never heard it before.
