Obituary: HALFORD, AFTON - Deseret News (Salt Lake City)

Afton Halford

1924 ~ 2009

On a crisp fall morning, October 6th, 2009, Afton RachelRobertson Halford completed her journey through life. During herlast years she fought hard and valiantly, but in the end her petiteframe and tired soul could endure no more.Afton was born in Midway,Utah to Burt and Josephine Robertson, January 16th, 1924. Shemarried her beloved Eugene W. Halford, January 10th, 1946. They haveone daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Julio Rivera. Afton was veryartistic, creative and had many hobbies.

Afton is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marvell.Afton is survived by her husband, daughter and son-in-law and asister Betty Bell and her devoted dog Sparky. She also leaves behindmany nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her youngest niecePhyllis Nielsen and her family. Thank you for always being there.

The family would like to pay a special thank you to the ladies ofHaven Home Health. With a heartfelt thank you to Amie and Diane.Thank you for all of your years of kindness and support. Also, tothe entire staff of Avalon Valley Rehab. Thank you for taking suchgood care of Afton during her last few months. Also, to Dr. JohnDietlin, thank you so very much for all of your kindness andattention over the last several years, and to Debbie Mckowen thankyou for all of your guidance along the way.

Services will be held Saturday, October 10th at 2 p.m. at WasatchLawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Dr. The family will receive friendsone hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
