Acosta Daughtry.(2007 Wedding Register) - Mississippi Magazine

First United Methodist Church in Winnfield, Louisiana, was the setting for the September wedding of Adrienne Moore Acosta and James Douglas Daughtry.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Anthony Acosta of Winnfield, Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hal Moore Sr. of Pope and Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Acosta of Pascagoula.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Daughtry of Winnfield, Louisiana. He is the grandson of Mrs. Earl T. DeSelle of Alexandria, Louisiana, and the late Mr. DeSelle and Mrs. R.W. Daughtry of Winnfield, Louisiana, and the late Mr. Daughtry.

The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Tim Lawson and Dr. James R. Walker. Musicians were Fran Walton, organist, and Cheryl Caraway and Elizabeth Pauley, vocalists.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory brushed-satin gown with a tulle overlay embellished with Austrian crystals and pearls. The A-line skirt fell into a cathedral-length train. She wore a custom-designed veil fashioned of ivory silk Italian tulle attached to a headpiece covered with Austrian crystals and clusters of seed pearls.

Angeline Acosta served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Margaret Aubrey of Charleston, South Carolina; Elizabeth Pauley of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Katie Acosta of Pascagoula, cousins of the bride; Claire Deslatte of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Suzy Colvin and Amanda Bailey, both of Ruston, Louisiana. The attendants wore two-piece gowns of hyacinth dupioni silk. The flower girl was Lauren Harrell of Winnfield, Louisiana.

Ray Daughtry served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Patrick Robertson of Bossier City, Louisiana, cousin of the groom, and Jason Walker, Chad Adams, Matt Walton, Jamie Dantzler, and Carl Bryant, all of Winnfield, Louisiana. Ushers were Rob Acosta of Pascagoula and Ming Bullard of Pope, cousins of the bride; Brad and Adam Daughtry of Winnfield, Louisiana, cousins of the groom; and Jay Hanna of Monroe, Louisiana.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at Pine Ridge Country Club. Music was provided by KC and the Southside Rockers of Batesville. On the eve of the wedding, the bridesmaids were honored with a luncheon at The Landing in Natchitoches, Louisiana, hosted by Carol Bullard of Pope, aunt of the bride. Following the rehearsal, the groom's parents hosted a dinner at Pine Ridge Country Club.

The couple is at home in Winnfield, Louisiana, following a wedding trip to Hawaii. Adrienne is a graduate of Northwestern State University with a degree in public relations/journalism. She is employed as marketing director for Haven Home Health, Inc. Jamie is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a degree in forestry and is supervising forester with Plum Creek Timber Company.
